SCA Medals and Awards

The Schipperke Club of America, Inc. offers to members only the following awards:

Title Awards

  • An Epoxy Dome pin with club logo for each dog earning a Championship title. There is no charge for the first pin; all subsequent pins requested by the same owner will be charged at $3.00 per pin.
  • An Epoxy Dome pin with club logo for each dog earning an Obedience, Rally, Agility or Tracking title.
  • The new annual award of “title achieved” Crate Tags. Said tags will include the SCA logo and title(s) achieved in the past year. Eligibility to be determined by annual AKC reports. Members must apply for the award which will be available for pick up at the national each year OR member may opt to have tag mailed at their expense. Any club member may further be allowed to order a custom crate tag with dog’s full name and SCA logo at their expense (cost to be determined by vendor based on lettering etc.) with a markup for fund raising).

ORDERING THE CRATE TAG WITH YOUR DOG’S NAME ON IT

If you want to order  a Crate Tag with your dog’s name on it, you must do this directly via the Etsy website and is not free. Tags come with holes and S hooks to hang attached to your Titles tag or alone. As long as you are a member of SCA in good standing, you may order your Name crate tag at any time for any Schipperke you own. Conformation – Will be announced at the Annual Banquet

  • A Sterling Silver Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member owning the Schipperke winning the most points in conformation, based on the AKC All-Breed point system. Said Dog is to be designated as Top Winning Schipperke for the year.
  • A Gold-Plated Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member who bred the Top Winning Schipperke for that year, based on the AKC All-Breed point system.
  • A Sterling Silver Ch. Maroufke of Kelso memorial medal to the member owning the Schipperke of Opposite Sex to the top Winning Schipperke who has accumulated the most points based on the AKC All-Breed point system.
  • A Gold-Plated Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member who bred the Top Best of Opposite dog or bitch based on the AKC All-Breed point system.
  • A Sterling Silver Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member owning the #1 Dog winning the most points in conformation, based on the AKC point system for Breed points.
  • A Gold-Plated Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member who bred the #1 Dog for that year based on the AKC points system for Breed points.
  • A Sterling Silver Ch. Maroufke of Kelso memorial medal to the member owning the #1 Bitch who has accumulated the most points based on the AKC point system for Breed points.
  • A Gold-Plated Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member who bred the #1 Bitch based on the AKC point system for Breed points.
  • If the same dog or bitch wins both categories (breed and all breed points) there will be a limit of one medal for that dog and one medal for that breeder.
  • A Sterling Silver Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to each member owning a Schipperke who has won a Best in Show while under his or her ownership. Each dog is limited to one medal per year.
  • A Sterling Silver Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member who owns the Schipperke designated as Top Owner Handled Schipperke based on the AKC report.
  • A Plaque, value not to exceed $80.00, engraved with the dog’s name, owner, breeder and year shall be awarded to the member owning the dog having the most BIS wins. In case of a tie, the greatest number of dogs defeated for BIS wins shall determine the winner.

Obedience – Will be announced at the Annual Banquet

  • Sterling Silver Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to owner of the Schipperke winning the most points using the AKC point system. Said dog is to be designated as Top Winning Obedience Schipperke.
  • A Sterling Silver Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to member owning a Schipperke who wins an All-Breed High in Trial at an AKC Trial. Said dog must defeat at least 45 other dogs to be eligible. Each dog is limited to one medal per year.
  • A Plaque, value not to exceed $80.00, to be awarded to the member owning the Schipperke with the most all-breed HIT wins. In case of a tie, the greatest number of dogs defeated shall determine the winner.
  • A Bronze Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member accumulating the most points, based on the AKC point system, in either Novice A or B. Said dog is to be designated as Top Winning Novice Obedience Schipperke.
  • A Silver-Plated Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member accumulating the most points, based on the AKC point system, in either Open A and/or Open B. Said dog is to be designated as Top Winning Open Obedience Schipperke.
  • A Gold-Plated Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member accumulating the most points, based on the AKC point system, in either Utility A and/or Utility B. Said dog is to be designated as Top Winning Utility Obedience Schipperke.

Agility and Agility Preferred – Will be announced at the Annual Banquet

  • A Sterling Silver Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to owner of the Schipperke winning the most points using the AKC point system. Said dog is to be designated as Top Winning Agility Schipperke.
  • A Bronze Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member accumulating the most points, based on the AKC point system, in Novice agility classes. Said dog is to be designated as Top Winning Novice Agility Schipperke.
  • A Silver-Plated Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member accumulating the most points, based on the AKC point system, in Open agility classes. Said dog is to be designated as Top Winning Open Agility Schipperke.
  • A Gold-Plated Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member accumulating the most points, based on the AKC point system, in Excellent agility classes. Said dog is to be designated as Top Winning Excellent Agility Schipperke.

Rally – Will be announced at the Annual Banquet

  • A Sterling Silver Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to owner of the Schipperke winning the most points using the AKC point system. Said dog is to be designated as Top Winning Rally Schipperke.
  • A Bronze Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member accumulating the most points based on the AKC point system, in either Rally Novice A or B. Said dog is to be designated as Top Winning Rally Novice Schipperke.
  • A Silver-Plated Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member accumulating the most points based on the AKC point system in Rally Advanced. Said dog is to be designated as Top Winning Rally Advanced Schipperke.
  • A Gold-Plated Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal to the member accumulating the most points based on the AKC point system, in Rally Excellent. Said dog is to be designated as Top Winning Rally Excellent Schipperke. Only one medal per dog per year.

President’s Pin – Will be announced at the Annual Banquet

  • All Presidents of the SCA receive, upon leaving office, a lapel pin to be designated as a Past President Pin, the value of which should not exceed $20.00. The aforementioned pin is to be presented at the annual Awards Banquet to the outgoing President by the newly elected President if possible. This award is to be an ongoing permanent award.

Junior Showmanship – Will be announced at the Annual Banquet

  • A Plaque, value not to exceed $80.00, shall be awarded to the Highest Scoring Junior Showmanship winner handling a Schipperke. Said Plaque shall be engraved with the Junior Handler’s name and the year.
  • A Gold-Plated Ch. Maroufke of Kelso Memorial Medal, engraved with name and year, shall be awarded to any Junior Handler who qualifies for Westminster providing all wins for qualification are with a Schipperke.

Awards Offered at SCA National Specialty Only

The National Specialty Show Chair must request the postcards from the Medals and Awards chair at least two (2) months in advance of the National. AKC rules do not allow these awards to be listed in the premium list or catalog; however, they can either be handed to the winners outside the ring or filled out by a member of the National Specialty show committee and mailed to the Medals and Awards chair. It is not the responsibility of the show committee to determine eligibility; the Medals and Awards chair will do that when he/she receives the postcards. The Medals and Awards chair will mail the prizes to the first owner listed that is a SCA member once the win has been verified on the AKC website.

Members Only Awards for Regional Specialties

The Regional Club Show Chair must request the postcards from the Medals and Awards chair at least two (2) months in advance of their specialty. AKC rules do not allow these awards to be listed in the premium list or catalog; however, they can either be handed to the winners outside the ring or filled out by a member of the show committee and mailed to the Medals and Awards chair. It is not the responsibility of the show committee to determine eligibility; the Medals and Awards chair will do that when he/she receives the postcards. The Medals and Awards chair will mail the prizes to the first owner listed that is a SCA member once the win has been verified on the AKC website.
